The Health Requirement
Same–Sex applicants must satisfy the Health Requirement protecting the Australian community from public health risks, significant servicing costs and prejudice to access to health services.
Should the following apply to you, we urge you to reach out and contact us:
- Ongoing health condition;
- The need for specialist treatment or surgery, e.g. Cancer;
- A child’s need for school assistance;
- Receipt of a pension;
- Elderly applicants;
Health Examinations
Same–Sex applicants must undertake a Health Examination. The Medical Officer of the Commonwealth (MOC), reviews Health Examination results assessing the health risk, servicing costs and prejudice to access to health services. Same–Sex Same–Sex applicants need to pass the Health Examination and MOC Assessment.
Health Waiver
Should you not meet the Health Requirement, a Health Waiver may be available for you.
